The working principle of the bending machine and whether PLC programming for it is difficult?

The hydraulic bending machine includes a stand, workbench, and clamping plate, with the workbench placed on the stand. The workbench is composed of a base and a press plate, with the base connected to the clamping plate via a hinge. The base consists of a casing, coil, and cover plate, with the coil located inside the recess of the casing and covered by the cover plate.

During use, the coil is electrified through a conductor, which after being electrified, attracts the press plate, thereby achieving the clamping of the thin plate between the press plate and the base. The use of electromagnetic force for clamping allows the press plate to be made to meet various workpiece requirements, and it can also process workpieces with side walls. The bending machine can meet the needs of various workpieces by replacing bending dies.

PLC programming for it is relatively easy to learn. Educational background is not a major issue; the primary gap in basic knowledge is just getting familiar with binary and hexadecimal knowledge and understanding some basic circuits and component knowledge (you might look into books on factory automation, basic machine tool circuits, etc.).

Siemens is the preferred brand, although it might be a bit more challenging for beginners compared to other brands. Siemens' simulation software is quite user-friendly, and validating your own programs with the simulation software is an excellent learning method.

In fact, most programs follow a process of input conditions (such as buttons, sensors)---logical operations---outputs (such as motors).

How to use a CNC bending machine:

First, connect the power supply, turn on the switch on the control panel, then start the oil pump, and you will hear the sound of the oil pump running, but the machine will not perform any action at this time.

Travel adjustment is essential; make sure to test before bending. When the upper mold descends to the bottom, there must be a gap the thickness of a plate, otherwise, it may damage the mold and machine. Travel adjustment can also be done with electric rapid adjustment.

For bending slot selection, generally, select a slot width 8 times the thickness of the plate. For bending a 4mm plate, a slot of about 32mm should be chosen. The backstop adjustment usually has electric rapid adjustment and manual fine-tuning, similar to a shearing machine.

Step on the foot switch to start bending. CNC bending machine molds are different from shearing machines; you can release them at any time, and the machine will stop when you release your foot, and continue descending when you step again.

The CNC bending machine uses equipped molds to bend cold metal sheets into workpieces of various geometric cross-sectional shapes. It is a sheet metal forming machinery designed for cold-rolled sheet metal processing, widely applied in industries such as automotive, aircraft manufacturing, light industry, shipbuilding, containers, elevators, railway vehicles, etc.

Carefully consider the material grade and the maximum processing thickness and length. If most of the work involves bending low-carbon steel up to 10 feet in length, then a free-bending force of no more than 50 tons might suffice. However, if engaging in a lot of bottom die forming, a machine with a capacity of 150 tons might need to be considered.
