When cold bending steel plates, the higher the strength of the steel plate, the greater the bending force required, the greater the springback force and springback angle, so appropriate upper die diameter and lower die opening width should be used.
1. Wear-resistant steel bending process
To avoid bending cracks caused by work hardening at the edges of the steel plate, a grinder can be used to remove burrs appropriately. The longitudinal cold bending performance of steel plates is slightly better than the transverse cold bending performance. Therefore, when bending at the same angle, the transverse bending inner diameter should be slightly larger. Longitudinal refers to the direction in which the steel plate is rolled perpendicular to the length direction of the press brake punch.

3. Bending Methods and Precautions
Steel Plate - Bending force and springback force increase with the increase in steel plate strength. The higher the strength and hardness of the steel plate, the greater the bending force required; the greater the springback; the larger the required upper die radius and the larger the required lower die opening. Steel Plate Surface - Surface damage under tensile stress during bending and side corrosion can significantly reduce the bending performance of the steel plate. Steel Plate Edge - The sheared edge should be deburred and ground with a deburring machine. Steel Plate Thickness (t) - The thinner the steel plate, the smaller the bending radius. Rolling Direction of the Steel Plate - When the bending line is perpendicular to the rolling direction, the bending radius of the steel plate is smaller than when it is in the same direction as the rolling direction. Bending Length (b) - If the bending length is less than ten times the thickness of the steel plate, the radius of the bent steel plate is usually smaller than the recommended value. Bending Tools: Upper Die Radius (R) - For stronger steel, it is recommended to use an upper die with a radius equal to or greater than the bending radius. Lower Die Opening Width (W) - If the opening width increases, the bending force and compression marks will decrease, but the springback value will increase. Bending Angle - The recommended value corresponds to a 90° bending angle. If the bending angle is small, a lower die with a radius smaller than the recommended angle can be used. When bending wear-resistant plates, the bending rate should be greater than 2s/10°, meaning a slower bending rate is required during bending. The centerlines of the upper and lower dies should remain parallel during bending.
