Recently, many users of press brakes have been calling to complain that their machines have no pressure. Often, when the upper and lower dies of the press brake are in the air, they can reach the bottom without any issues. However, when they apply force to bend the material, there is no pressure, and the upper die fails to bend the sheet metal. They ask us what could be the problem.
The lack of pressure in a press brake can be caused by various factors. We can eliminate possible causes by considering the following points:
1. First, we need to check the electrical contacts of the press brake. Check if there are any loose or disconnected connections.
2. Inspect the operation of the solenoid valve in the press brake. It is recommended to remove and clean the valve core, ensuring it is reinstalled in the correct orientation.
3. Check the relief valve of the press brake. Verify if the valve opening is too large, causing excessive oil return or if there are any blockages. Remove and clean the relief valve, adjusting the valve opening if necessary.
4. Inspect the hydraulic cylinder of the press brake for any internal leaks. If there are leaks, the cylinder seals need to be replaced, and the stroke of the hydraulic cylinder should be adjusted to ensure consistency between the left and right cylinders.
5. Finally, check if there are any abnormalities in the spring of the large hydraulic control valve of the press brake. If there are issues, the spring should be replaced.
If all the above points have been checked and there are no problems, it is possible that the oil pump of the press brake is faulty. In that case, it is recommended to seek assistance from professional maintenance personnel.
In terms of usage, follow these steps:
1. First, check if the motor and oil pump of the press brake are working properly and if there are no oil leaks.
2. Check if there is any debris blocking the large hydraulic control valve. You can press the foot switch to keep it pressurized and then reach into the oil tank to see which part of the large hydraulic control valve is returning oil. Remove and inspect that specific part, as it is likely to be stuck.
3. Most solenoid valves have indicator lights. Check if the lights are on. You can also use a screwdriver to see if there is any magnetic attraction nearby.
4. Push each valve inward and see if it returns to its original position. If any valve fails to return, remove it and clean it. A press brake is a machine used to bend thin sheets of metal. Its structure mainly consists of a frame, a worktable, and a clamping plate. The worktable is placed on the frame, and it is composed of a base and a pressure plate. The base is connected to the clamping plate through hinges. The base consists of a seat shell, a coil, and a cover plate. The coil is located in the recess of the seat shell, and the top of the recess is covered with a cover plate. When the coil is energized through wires, it generates a magnetic force that clamps the sheet metal between the pressure plate and the base. The electromagnetic clamping allows the pressure plate to accommodate various workpiece requirements and can process workpieces with sidewalls. The operation is also straightforward.
