Detailed Steps for Starting a CNC Bending Machine

Precautions for CNC Bending Machine Operation

1. CNC bending machines should be operated by dedicated personnel, and unauthorized individuals are prohibited from operating the machine.

2. Before operating the machine, the operator should wear appropriate personal protective equipment and carefully inspect the machine and the working environment. Only after confirming everything is in order should the machine be powered on. The inspection should include checking the equipment performance, program and mold settings, machine maintenance, and shift handover records. Any abnormalities should be promptly reported to the team leader.

3. The machine should be powered on following these steps:

   - Press the start switch on the control panel and perform zeroing on the machine. The steps are as follows:

4. When creating an NC program, select the upper and lower molds based on the properties of the workpiece, such as length and thickness, and the bending force table. During the bending process, ensure that there is no interference between the workpiece, upper and lower molds, and back gauge to ensure personal safety. Program creation includes direct and angle modes.

5. In the run mode, retrieve and check the stored NC program, and load the specified upper and lower molds according to the program requirements. The machine should be in a stopped state during mold installation.

Precautions when powering on the machine:

- After setting the origin, enter the programming mode. When creating a program, select the upper and lower molds based on the properties of the workpiece, such as length and thickness, and the bending force should be lower than the mold's pressure resistance. Clamp the upper and lower molds, and securely fasten each segmented mold. When programming, consider avoiding interference between the workpiece, upper and lower molds, and back gauge during the bending process to ensure personal safety. Program creation includes direct and angle modes.

- After completing the program creation, run the machine in the run mode at least twice to check the accuracy of the program before performing bending operations.

Bending precautions:

1. The selection of bending die clearance should generally be 6-8 times the thickness of the plate. The operator must be familiar with the use of the machine and have knowledge of safety production.

2. Whenever possible, bending operations should be performed by one person. If it requires two or more people, an experienced person should issue work instructions to ensure consistent work procedures.

3. When bending small or long-sized parts, careful consideration should be given to avoid potential safety hazards between the workpiece, molds, and the body.

4. The plate material must be properly clamped during bending to prevent it from lifting and causing injuries.

5. During the bending process, it is strictly prohibited to place hands or any other body parts between the upper and lower molds. Regularly check for any loosening or displacement of the molds and ensure their tightness. In case of a malfunction or emergency, immediately press the emergency stop button, report to the team leader, and only restart the machine after identifying the cause or resolving the issue.

6. When adjusting the opening of the variable lower mold, no material should be in contact with the lower mold.

7. It is strictly prohibited to fold the plate material at one end alone, as it may affect the accuracy of the workpiece and the machine. If it is necessary to work on one side only, the overload should not exceed one-fourth of the nominal pressure. Additionally, both sides must be processed simultaneously to address the issue of single-side loading.

8. If any irregularities are found in the workpiece or molds during operation, the machine should be stopped for correction. It is strictly prohibited to manually correct them while the machine is running to avoid hand injuries.

9. It is prohibited to bend excessively thick iron plates, quenched steel plates, advanced alloy steels, square steel, and plates that exceed the performance capabilities of the bending machine to prevent damage to the machine.

10. After completing the work, if the machine will not be used temporarily, the program should be stored promptly. After the machine molds are closed, sequentially turn off the operation buttons, hydraulic motor, and main power supply of the machine.
