Safety of Use: A vertical slotting machine automatically clamps and positions the workpiece using hydraulic systems, with automatic operation, keeping the operator away from the moving parts of the machine. In a gantry slotting machine, the workpiece is clamped within the machine's moving range, and the gantry and control parts move together. The high-speed movement of the gantry can easily cause personal injuries to the operator, posing significant safety risks.

Safety of Use

7. Comprehensive Recommendation: Based on the characteristics of each form, if there are a significant number of irregularly shaped plates (cut by laser), it is recommended to choose a vertical slotting machine. If there are mostly whole sheets or symmetrically shaped pieces (square or rectangular), it is recommended to choose a gantry slotting machine. Considering the aforementioned features, it is evident that both machines have their own advantages in terms of precision, energy consumption, processing technology, and installation. However, the price of gantry slotting machines on the market is slightly lower than that of vertical slotting machines, so users can make their own choices based on their specific circumstances.

Operational Guidelines:
1. Start by cleaning the platform using an air duct, ensuring there are no metal shavings or debris present.

2. Place the metal sheet on the platform, aligning the starting end with the first pressure foot. If the metal sheet has a protective film, place it with the film side facing down.

3. Determine the position of the cutting tool. If it is not in the correct position, it can be corrected by using the "Origin Alignment" function. However, it is recommended to minimize the use of "Origin Alignment" operations.

4. Check the condition of the blades and determine if a blade change is necessary (use high-speed steel blades for iron plates and alloy blades for stainless steel plates).

5. Blade changes should be performed by a designated person, and when using alloy blades, a 35mm-high tool-setting block should be used for support.

6. After completing the necessary preparations, input the calculated bending dimensions into the machine. Pay attention to adding an error for the first cut (the error should be determined through actual measurements), and leave extra material for the final pressure plate.

7. After inputting the work parameters, ensuring that the first cut is not less than 8mm, press the "Slotting Preparation" button to make the first cut. Once the cutter retracts and the position indicator flashes "OK," move the gantry to the next cutting position by pressing the "Gantry Move Backward" button, then execute the next cut by pressing the "Ram Move Forward" button. Repeat this process until all dimensions have been cut.

8. After completing the final cut, manually move the gantry backward and release the material pressure switch to remove the sheet.

9. Clean the worktable.

Precautions:
1. Lubricating oil should be added before starting the machine each day.

2. The depths of single cuts should be as follows: 0.33, 0.22, 0.15, 0.15, 0.15, 0.15, 0.15, 0.10, 0.10.

3. The "Slotting Preparation" button is used as a preparation step before slotting in full-automatic mode. Do not press this button during the slotting process.

4. After inputting a new program, press the "Emergency Stop" switch and then reopen it before pressing the "Ram Move Forward" button to start the slotting process.

5. When bending angles are less than 90 degrees, use a chamfering tool to widen the grooves.

6. Avoid frequently toggling the switches in the electrical cabinet. When shutting down, simply turn the key to the off position.

7. During the slotting process, use an air duct to blow away metal shavings from the platform support frame. No debris should be present below the platform.

8. If the sheet support frame (pressure foot) is loose, use an Allen wrench to tighten the screws.

9. Regularly check the coolant level and the angle of coolant injection.

10. In the event of a machine malfunction, immediately stop the machine for repair and avoid operating it while it is malfunctioning.
